AC Milan vs AS Roma 01/09/18

01 September 2018

After a disturbing 3-2 defeat to Napoli in their first Serie A game, AC Milan will host AS Roma at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in the third Serie A fixture, hoping for a positive outcome just before the international break. The Rossoneri have dropped a two-goal lead at the Stadio San Paolo, which infuriated Gennaro Gattuso, who has pointed the finger of blame at Mateo Musacchio and Tiemoue Bakayoko, marking them as two principal reasons of Milan’s nightmarish loss. The incident in the dressing room has only warmed up the heat amid the talks of Antonio Conte’s potential arrival at the bench of the famous club, and the match against the Giallorossi could be crucial for Gattuso’s faith. Meanwhile, Eusebio Di Francesco’s side played out a 3-3 draw with Atalanta at home after coming back from a two-goal down, which only confirmed their turbulent form. Although Roma managed to beat Torino on the road on the opening matchday thanks to Edin Dzeko’s late goal, their performance failed to impress the fans, who expect to see La Lupa reacting after the sale of Radja Nainggolan.

Mattia Caldara and Hakan Calhanoglu are expected to start from the first minute in place of Musacchio and Borini, while Andrea Conti and Ivan Strinic still stay out of the squad. As for the visitors, Diego Perotti will be the only player to skip the big showdown due to injury.
