Wolfsburg come face-to-face with Caen for a friendly meeting that takes place at the AOK Stadion in Wolfsburg.
It will be Wolfsburg’s third warm-up game as part of their preparations for the new season, with the Wolves securing a win and playing out a draw in their last two matches. Oliver Glasner’s men have hit a free-scoring form in the past few months, having scored over 1.5 match goals in five of their previous six outings, netting a total of 19 goals across those games. But, they have been struggling in defense ever since late March, having kept just two clean sheets in ten games across that period while conceding over 1.5 match goals four times in the remaining eight clashes along the way.
Meanwhile, back-to-back defeats in the last two Ligue 1 outings have seen Caen relegated, even though they’ve been on a four-game unbeaten run prior (W3, D1). The SMC have already started their preparations for the upcoming season, having played out a 1-1 draw with Laval a few days ago. Rui Almeida will have to solve Caen’s disappointing displays in the final third that have seen them score one goal or less in 17 of their last 18 games across all competitions. Also, they have struggled to keep a clean sheet in their previous four outings, conceding 2+ match goals twice along the way.
