An in-form Tottenham Hotspur welcome an unpredictable Wolverhampton Wanderers side to the Wembley Stadium looking to stretch their five-game Premier League winning run.
The hosts come into this meeting after an astonishing 5-0 victory over Bournemouth on Boxing Day Premier League clash that has followed a 6-2 road win over Everton. Unbeaten in their last seven games across all competitions (W6, D1), the Spurs currently sit second in the table with a six-point deficit to Liverpool. Mauricio Pochettino’s players have racked-up a promising four-game Premier League home winning streak, scoring a minimum of three goals per match three times in the process. Four out of last six Tottenham’s home encounters across all competitions have produced over 2.5 goals, with Spurs keeping a clean sheet three times during the run. The London-based outfit also remains the only team in the English top-tier competition that is yet to play out a draw this campaign (W15, L4).
Meanwhile, the visitors have failed to ensure all three points in their last two Premier League outings, losing 2-0 to Liverpool at home before being held to a 1-1 draw to Fulham on the road. Wolves’ indifferent road form (W3, D3, L3) has seen them securing just one win on their last five road trips. The Wanderers have also struggled to keep a clean sheet in six out of previous seven road games although they’ve allowed more than one goal per match just once in the process. Goals have been in short supply in all of Wolverhampton’s road clashes, with seven out of their nine away games producing under 2.5 goals. What’s more, Nuno Espirito Santo’s players have scored more than one goal per match away from home just once in the league so far.
