Singapore and Myanmar go head-to-head at the Singapore National Stadium for a friendly match that will see the visitors trying to snap a four-game winless run (D2, L2).
The hosts have a new era under head coach Tatsuma Yoshida with a 4-3 home win over the Solomon Islands, which was their second triumph in three outings since the turn of the year (W2, D/L1). Accustomed to playing low-profile games, Singapore’s most notable victory over the past ten months have come precisely against the Solomon Islands, currently ranked 139th in the FIFA World Rankings. Still, the Lions have secured seven wins in their last ten outings (W7, D1, L2), beating their rivals to nil four times in the process. A potential worry for Yoshida could be that his players have struggled to keep a blank sheet in four of their previous five matches, allowing over 1.5 goals per game twice along the way.
Meanwhile, the visitors who are currently sitting in the 140th place travel here on a streak of four games in which they’ve failed to find the net (D2, L2). Notably, Myanmar’s immense difficulties in the final third have seen them struggle to score in seven of their last ten outings, although they’ve scored 3+ match goals in two of the remaining three meetings across that period. Also, Miodrag Radulovic’s men have not impressed defensively either, conceding over 1.5 match goals five times in their last ten games, while keeping a clean sheet only twice in the process. It will be a daunting prospect for the Asian Lions to pick up a win here given the fact they’ve struggled to beat Singapore in all nine of their previous H2H clashes (D2, L7).
