Bramall Lane is the venue as Sheffield United seek their first Premier League points of the season against a newly-promoted Leeds United side.
It’s been an underwhelming start to the season for Sheffield United so far, as they’ve lost both of their opening Premier League games without scoring once. Pretty much in the same fashion, the vast majority (80.77%) of United’s league results (wins/losses) saw the winner on the day keep a clean sheet back in 2019/20. In turn, just one of their previous six competitive H2H meetings held at this venue has ended in a draw (W4, D1, L1), with four of those five results seeing the losing side fail to get on the scoresheet. Notably, Chirs Wilder’s men finished the last season as the division’s second-best home defense, conceding just 0.78 goals on average per Premier League home fixture.
Meanwhile, the visitors have endured mixed fortunes since returning to the top-flight after a 16-year absence (W1, L1), with both of their opening Premier League games yielding the identical 4-3 scoreline. Going back to late February, none of Leeds’ seven competitive trips have ended in a draw (W5, L2), with five of those results seeing producing a full-time margin of over 1.5 goals. It’s also worth noting that the ‘Peacocks’ pulled off just one win from ten league trips in which they conceded the opening goal back in 2019/20 (W1, D3, L6). Remarkably, though, Marcelo Bielsa’s men won 13 of 16 away league games in which they were not losing at half-time last season (W13, D3).
