Seoul World Cup Stadium is the venue as Seoul seek their first K League 1 home win over Busan IPark after four successive failures (D3, L1).
The hosts have suffered a dip in form lately, going from three straight league triumphs to two consecutive matches without a win (D1, L1), with each of those four results (wins/loss) seeing the winner on the day find the net in both halves. At home in the K League 1, none of Seoul’s eight fixtures this term has ended in a draw (W4, L4), with the wins coming in the last two. The ‘clean-sheet’ theme remains quite significant, though, given five of those eight games have seen the winning side shut out the loser. But, lapses of concentration in the late stages have seen Seoul concede at least once inside the final 15 minutes of play in three of those eight encounters while failing to get on the scoresheet in that same timeframe.
As for the visitors, they are enduring a hard time, having won only once in their last seven league outings (D2, L4), with each of those five results seeing the winner on the day score over 1.5 goals. Additionally, the ‘Park Royals’ have lost three of their previous four K League 1 trips (D1), all of which yielded a full-time margin of over 1.5 goals. Particularly vulnerable after the break, Cho Deok-je’s men have shipped the majority (76.47%) of the 17 K League 1 away goals conceded in the second half (13). With Busan, a late show is often on the cards, considering seven of their nine league trips this term have featured at least one goal scored/conceded inside the final 15 minutes of play.
