Real Sociedad and Osasuna go head-to-head at the Reale Seguros Stadium in what might be a high-scoring La Liga (LL) matchup. Indeed, both of their previous top-flight H2Hs have seen over 4.5 goals and both teams on the scoresheet.
The hosts had been a force to be reckoned with at home before the pandemic gripped football in Spain, putting together seven consecutive victories across domestic competitions. Impressively, six of those successes saw Sociedad open the scoring and score at least two goals in total, while four witnessed them keep a clean sheet. Imanol Alguacil’s men have a perfect opportunity to extend that run as they face a side they’ve not lost to in six successive LL home H2Hs (W4, D2). Additionally, quick-start Sociedad have scored the opening goal in 11 of their 13 LL home matches this season, although they failed to grab a win in four such fixtures (D2, L2).
On the other hand, none of Osasuna’s last seven league games has ended in a draw (W3, L4), with five of those results (win/loss) seeing the winner on the day score at least twice per match. Jagoba Arrasate’s side had failed to impress on the road before the pandemic halted proceedings, sealing only one win in their last five LL trips (D1, L3). But, considering that both of their previous H2Hs featured both teams scoring, as well as four of Osasuna’s last six LL away matches, the visitors will feel they can get on the scoresheet. If Los Rojillos find the net here, they are likely to do it after the break, given that the vast majority (93%) of their total 14 LL away goals scored so far came in the second half of play (13).
