RB Leipzig and TSG Hoffenheim face-off against each other at the Red Bull Arena with the hosts looking to post their third successive Bundesliga victory over Julian Nagelsmann’s team.
Unbeaten in their last four BL outings (W3, D1), RB Leipzig reside fourth in the table, with a three-point lead over fifth-placed Wolfsburg. With the Champions League promotion very much on the stake, the host can’t afford a failure here. However, the Bulls have failed to wrap up all three points in their last two Bundesliga home clashes (D1, L1) having struggled to find the back of the net in the process. But, Ralf Rangnick’s men are still the third-best BL home side (W7, D3, L1) boasting the third joint-best attacking home record of 24 goals scored after 11 BL fixtures. Moreover, no team has conceded fewer goals at home than the Red Bulls (7) with Rangnick’s players preserving six home slates this campaign.
On the other hand, the visitors are still trying to find the right balance and return to the Europa League promotion race. Although unbeaten in their last four Bundesliga meetings (W2, D2), Die Kraichgauer have still pulled off just two triumphs in their previous 11 BL clashes (W2, D8, L1). The main reason Julian Nagelsmann’s men have been struggling for wins concerns the immense defensive problems that have seen them concede in 19 of 22 BL fixtures so far. What’s more, Hoffenheim have failed to keep a clean sheet in all ten BL away games, allowing over 1.5 goals per match six times in the process. Nagelsmann rather relies on his prolific attack that has bagged three goals per match three times in their last four league outings.
