A struggling Leicester City side welcome a resurgent Manchester United to the King Power Stadium in a match the visitors have to win if they are to maintain pressure on Arsenal and Chelsea.
Sitting 11th in the table, the hosts are not going through the best of times, considering they’ve failed to wrap up all three points in their last four Premier League outings (D1, L3). However, Leicester come into this meeting after an encouraging 1-1 away draw with Liverpool that has brought their three-game PL streak to an end. Unpredictable and inconsistent, the Foxes have secured just four triumphs in 11 PL home clashes this term (W4, D2, L5), having lost the previous two encounters at the King Power Stadium. Only three teams have scored fewer goals at home that Leicester (13) this campaign, with Claude Puel’s man averaging 1.18 goals scored per match in front of the home supporters.
Meanwhile, a 2-2 home draw with Burnley during midweek was the first game Manchester United failed to win after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s arrival (W8, D1). Regardless, the Red Devils have racked up a three-game road winning run under the Norwegian manager, scoring eight goals while conceding just one in the process. Still, four of United’s five Premier League losses have arrived away from home, with Man Utd allowing exactly three goals per match in each. On the other hand, five of their six road triumphs have seen them bagging over 1.5 goals, as only Manchester City (30) managed to score more goals on the road than the Red Devils so far (23).
