Internazionale and Bologna go head-to-head at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza this weekend in what promises to be a high-scoring Serie A affair. Indeed, three of their last four top-flight H2Hs have produced over 2.5 goals, with two seeing both teams on the scoresheet, too.
The hosts take the field on a run of four Serie A matches without a loss (W3, D1), all of which saw the score over 1.5 goals in one half. Moreover, Antonio Conte’s men have racked up an 11-game unbeaten run at home in the league (W6, D5), netting over 2.5 goals in three of the last four such fixtures. However, the ‘Nerazzurri’ have endured mixed fortunes in their six previous top-flight H2Hs held at this venue (W2, D2, L2), failing to keep a clean sheet in each of those clashes. Curiously, 58.33% of the goals (scored/conceded) across those encounters came in the first half of play (7/12), which has been true in 54.17% of Inter’s Serie A home games this term (26/48).
Meanwhile, the visitors have failed to keep a clean sheet in six consecutive league matches ahead of this trip (W1, D2, L3), conceding over 1.5 goals on four of those occasions. Additionally, Sinisa Mihajlovic’s players have managed to shut out their rivals just once in 14 Serie A road trips this campaign, but none in the last 11. Particularly vulnerable before the break, the ‘Rossoblu’ have shipped 56.52% (13) of 23 Serie A away goals conceded in the first half. Therefore, it’s not strange that they’ve allowed the opening goal in 57.14% of their league away fixtures this season (8/14).
