Valencia vs Inter Milan 11/08/19
11 August 2019
Valencia welcome Inter Milan to the Estadio de Mestalla for a friendly meeting that will be their ultimate pre-season game ahead of the 2019-20 campaign.
None of Valencia’s five summer friendlies has ended in a draw (W3, L2), with four of those games producing over 2.5 goals. Interestingly, three of their pre-season matches have ended with the same 2-1 scoreline (W2, L1) with all seeing the identical1-1 scoreline at the halftime break. If the Bats do win here, it will probably be accompanied by at least two goals in Inter’s net, as 15 of their last 16 triumphs saw them score 2+ match goals. Also, Valencia’s stubborn defense has restricted the Oranges’ opponents to a maximum of one goal per match in seven of their previous eight outings, with five of a total seven goals they’ve conceded across those games coming before the halftime break.
Meanwhile, three of Inter’s five pre-season games so far have ended with the same 1-1 scoreline, with the Nerazzurri coming out on top after a penalty shootout twice (W2, L1). A potential worry for Antonio Conte ahead of this showdown could be Inter’s lack of creativity in the final third that has seen them score one goal or less in their last four outings, finding the net in the first 45 minutes only once in the process. Additionally, although seven of Inter’s last ten games have seen both teams score, just three of them have produced over 2.5 goals. Still, the Milanese giants will now look to bring a five-game winless run against Valencia to an end (D3, L2), with four of those clashes seeing Inter fail to put the ball into the net.
