SPAL vs Juventus 18/03/18

18 March 2018

Although it seemed SPAL have no chance of enduring in the Serie A for more than one season, their brave performances over the last couple of months have kept their hopes of staying in the top flight very much alive. However, the White-Blues will probably have to wait for another opportunity to get some points they desperately need to escape the danger zone because Juventus are looking to close in on their seventh consecutive league title, and considering the Old Lady’s recent displays, this should be a routine victory for the defending champions. Massimiliano Allegri’s side have extended their tremendous Serie A winning streak to nine without conceding a goal in a comfortable 2-0 win over Atalanta in Turin, extending their lead over Napoli to four points. After three defeats in a row, SPAL have managed to win twice and secure a draw against Sassuolo boosting their chances of avoiding relegation, but Juventus have won their previous eleven away games in all competitions, conceding just two goals in the process, which clearly indicates they are playing in a great form.
Leonardo Semplici is concerned over Marco Borriello’s slight injury, but according to some reports, the experienced forward could be ready for the showdown, while Juan Cuadrado, Federico Bernardeschi, and Benedikt Höwedes won’t be available for the visitors.
