Parma vs Internazionale 29/06/20

29 June 2020

Internazionale will try to get back on track in Serie A when they take on Parma at the Stadio Ennio Tardini this weekend.

Although Parma won two of their last five Serie A fixtures (D1, L2), a lack of firepower up front saw the hosts score one goal or less on four of those occasions, with four of six goals they managed across those clashes coming before the break. Against this backdrop, Parma’s action usually bursts into life in the second half, as 58.82% of the 17 Serie A home goals scored this season came in the second 45 minutes of play (ten). Curiously, none of Parma’s last four league home games has ended in a draw (W2, L2), with each of those results (win/loss) witnessing the winner on the day keep a clean sheet. In turn, five of their six previous top-flight H2Hs held at this venue saw the losing side shut out (W4, L2).

In the meantime, a shock 3-3 home draw with Sassuolo during the midweek now means that Inter have failed to pick up a win in three of their last four Serie A matches (D1, L2), conceding over 1.5 goals in each of those failures. Also, the ‘Nerazzurri’ have won only once in their four previous league road trips (D1, L2), with each of those three results seeing the winner on the day score precisely twice. But, quick-start Inter have scored the opening goal in 84.62% (11) of their 13 Serie A away fixtures this season, which makes them the best road starters in the league. A potential worry for Antonio Conte could be his players’ tendency to switch off after the break, which resulted in 85.71% (12) of their 14 Serie A away goals conceded arrive in the second half.
