Liverpool vs Manchester City 05/04/18
05 April 2018
Two sides that play maybe the most attractive football in Europe at the moment will be facing each other at the Anfield Stadium, as Liverpool are set to host the undisputable Premier League leaders Manchester City in what will be a derby match of the Champions League quarter-finals. The Reds are in a great form with four victories in previous five games in the Premier League in which they’ve scored fourteen goals, while The Citizens have five in last five EPL encounters, but their performance in the second-leg against Basel was far from convincing although Guardiola was resting his key players in that match. Despite the fact Manchester City will wrap up another Premier League title, the wealthy club owners are demanding the Champions League crown, and The Sky Blues will be playing under severe pressure against the rampant Merseysiders. Liverpool and Manchester City already played one match this year, with Jurgen Klopp’s side came out as winners in a thrilling 4-3 spectacle.
Ádám Bogdán and Joe Gomez are sidelined by injuries for the home team, but Klopp is happy to see Nathaniel Clyne back in the squad after a few months of inactivity. As for the visiting side, Benjamin Mendy is yet to recover from a disastrous ligament injury suffered last September.
