Granada vs Sevilla 24/08/19
24 August 2019
Granada and Sevilla go head-to-head at the Estadio Nuevo Los Cármenes as the visitors hope to post their first La Liga triumph since March 2017. Interestingly, two of the last three competitive H2H meetings between these two sides at this venue have ended with the same 2-1 scoreline in Granada’s favor.
The newly-promoted hosts have marked their return to the Spanish top tier with a thrilling 4-4 away draw with Villarreal. Taking their last eight games in Segunda Division into account, Nazaríes are now unbeaten in their last nine games across all competitions (W5, D4). Six games in that sequence have seen both teams score, although just four have produced over 2.5 goals. Granada’s impressive home form has seen them secure six wins in their last eight competitive home games (W6, D2), with five of those wins being settled by a narrow one-goal margin in their favor. For Granada, most of the action takes part in the first half when they are at home, as all eight of their last home goals have come before the halftime whistle.
As for the visitors, they’ve sealed a 2-0 away win over Espanyol in the opening matchday to stretch their unbeaten LL run to three games (W2, D1), last season included. Notably, six of Sevilla’s previous seven LL triumphs have seen them beat their rivals to nil, with four of those games ending with the identical 2-0 scoreline in their favor. Still, Los Rojiblancos’ away games have lacked entertainment lately, as just one of their previous six LL trips has produced over 2.5 goals, with Sevilla netting one goal or less four times across the same period.
