Getafe vs Real Betis 30/09/20

30 September 2020

Getafe will be looking to extend an unbeaten run in their La Liga H2Hs with Real Betis to five (W3, D1) when the two sides meet at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez.

Unbeaten in their opening two La Liga matches (W1, D1), the hosts have continued to deliver low-scoring contests. Indeed, both of Getafe’s first two league games have featured under 1.5 goals, which was the case in 34.21% of their top-flight games back in 2019/20 (13/38). Low scoring was, indeed, a theme for Jose Bordalas’ side last season, where 65.79% of their La Liga fixtures featured under 2.5 goals (25/38). But, a lack of firepower up front has recently been Getafe’s Achilles heel, as they’ve drawn a blank in six of their previous eight league encounters, scoring precisely one apiece in the other two, last season included. In turn, despite suffering just one defeat from their previous four top-flight home H2Hs (W3, L1), Getafe have netted under 1.5 goals on three of those occasions.

Meanwhile, Betis’ 100% La Liga start (W2) was brought to a halt last time out, with Real Madrid running out 3-2 winners in Andalusia. Curiously, both of the visitors’ league triumphs this season have been ‘to nil,’ and witnessed them open the scoring inside either the first or the last ten minutes of play. But, ‘Los Verdiblancos’ were far from impressive away from home back in 2019/20, picking up just a single triumph from 19 La Liga trips (W1, D7, L11). What’s more, a lack of ruthlessness in front of goal saw Manuel Pellegrini’s men score a miserable average of 0.73 goals per away league game, lamenting the division’s third joint-worst goal-scoring away record (14 goals bagged).
