Burnely vs Newcastle United 27/11/18

27 November 2018

Burnley welcome Newcastle United to Turf Moor looking to end a 5-game winless Premier League streak, as they hope to escape the relegation zone.

The Clarets have lost three out of their last five EPL encounters, while they have played out two draws to Leicester City and Huddersfield, having failed to find the back of the net three times in the process. With a record of one win, one draw, and three losses in 5 home clashes, the Lancashire-based outfit is one of the worst home sides in the English top flight. Moreover, Sean Dyche’s players have failed to keep a clean sheet four times at Turf Moor so far, as they already conceded ten goals in five matches. Only five teams in the Premier League scored fewer goals than Burnley, who bagged 12 goals in their opening 12 league games up to this point.

On the other hand, the visitors have notably improved their game in the previous two Premier League matches, having defeated Bournemouth and Watford in the process. Thanks to these triumphs, the Magpies have climbed up the table, as they currently sit 14th, with a record of two wins, three draws, and seven losses. However, Rafa Benitez’s men have scored just eight goals in the league so far, which makes them the 3rd-worst attacking team in the Premier League. Joselu and Co. have failed to score a goal five times in 12 games, while they’ve managed a minimum of two goals only twice in the run. As for their defensive performances, Newcastle kept a clean sheet on four occasions up to this point. But, they have conceded two or more goals six times until now.
