Barcelona vs Leganes 08/04/18

08 April 2018

Ernesto Valverde’s decision to leave Messi on the bench against Sevilla has almost backfired on him, but Barcelona have managed to come back from two goals down to secure a draw in Andalusia and keep the lead over Atletico Madrid at the top of the table. The Catalan giants will be facing Leganes at the Camp Nou looking for all three points, which might see them as La Liga champions considering Los Colchoneros are taking Real Madrid at Santiago Bernabeu. The Blaugrana have beaten Roma 4-1 at home in the midweek Champions League battle, and they are eager to continue in the same form against the struggling visitors who lost 1-0 to Valencia last weekend. Although Barcelona’s game doesn’t look so convincing like in some previous seasons, they appear to have found stability and continuity this year, which is why they’re comfortably residing at the top of La Liga for a whole season. As for the Legionaries, they will be playing in the Spanish top flight for another year, which was their primary goal at the beginning of the season, and they’ll be traveling to Catalonia without any pressure.

Lucas Digne is the only injured player in the home squad, while Alexander Szymanowski and Darko Brasanac won’t perform for the visitors due to muscle strains. Diego Rico is suspended after picking up his fifth yellow card against Valencia.
